CIVIL LITIGATION

Introduction to Civil Litigation in Cyprus:

Civil litigation refers to the legal process by which a person or an organization seeks to resolve a dispute through the court system. This type of legal action is initiated by one party, who is seeking a resolution to a dispute and believes that the court is the most appropriate venue to resolve it. Civil litigation can involve a wide range of disputes, including those related to contracts, property, personal injury, and more.

Overview of the Civil Litigation Process in Cyprus

The civil litigation process in Cyprus can be complex and time-consuming. It typically begins with the filing of a complaint, which outlines the nature of the dispute and the relief sought. This is followed by a series of legal procedures, including discovery, pretrial motions, and a trial. Throughout the process, the parties are expected to engage in settlement negotiations in an attempt to resolve the dispute without going to trial. If a settlement is not reached, the case will proceed to trial, where a judge or jury will make a final decision on the matter.
